A little information about God’s Provision in Tough Times for you:

Cynthia Howerter and co-author La-Tan Roland Murphy have both experienced God’s provision in tough times. Along with 15 guest writers, they candidly share their own personal stories of unemployment, underemployment, and financial despair.

You will find encouragement and hope as you read each story. Many of these writers lost their income, savings, homes, and health insurance. Some found themselves on public assistance while others faced homelessness. Their faith and trust in God was refined and strengthened as He provided a successful path through their difficulties.

Each writer’s personal story demonstrates the power of God who knows exactly what you are going through and who promises to care for those who put their faith and trust in Him.

God’s Provision in Tough Times includes personal accounts by guest writers Alycia W. Morales, Beth K. Fortune, Carrie Fancett Pagels, Cecil Stokes, Dan Walsh, Deborah Raney, Dee Dee Parker, Eddie Jones, Eva Marie Everson, Felicia Bowen Bridges, James L. Rubart, Ramona Richards, Roger E. Bruner, Tamara D. Fickas, and Torry Martin.

It is the sincere hope of La-Tan, our 15 contributing writers, and myself that God will use this book to touch the hearts of many people and draw them close to Him.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

  1. Congradulations Cynthia, I know you worked very hard and put your heart into this book. I will be ordering a copy for sure. I’m happy your back. I have been missing the Soar with Eagles stories.

    • Thank you for your kind words and your unwavering encouragement with my writing, Don. You were always there to lift my spirits when I wondered if I should continue writing. I know you will LOVE the book. May the Lord abundantly bless you, dear friend.

  2. I am so proud to know a real author but even more happy for you to have had God’s guiding hand throughout your ordeal as well as the book and that you have God’s love in your heart.

    • Thank you so much, Marge, for ALL of the encouragement you’ve given to me over the years. First, strengthening my faith, then standing by me when terrible times swarmed my family and me, and always, always encouraging my writing. Bless you, sweet cousin.

  3. Great! We can hardly wait to hold your book and read it. We pre-ordered ten of your books to give to friends, also. There are so many people who will be encouraged by reading the experiences of these writers during tough times. It is a timely subject.
    Congratulations and Blessings!

    • Oh, my! Ten books! How can I ever thank you and Lee for always being there for my children, husband, and me through the years! No matter what we encountered, the two of you have always been there with words of faith and encouragement. Without you, Miss Caroline, there would be no website and no book; you are the one who discovered the Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writers Conference and insisted I attend. When I faltered, you pushed me forward. Bless you, bless Lee.

  4. Just lost my dad expectantly a few weeks ago and I am a 50 y.o daughter who is really struggling with it. At church last night I realized I was struggling with God also during our praise and worship time. I’m a strong Christian in a very low point emotionally and I don’t like it.

    • Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your father, Pamela. Losing a parent is one of the hardest things anyone can ever go through. I understand from losing my own dad what a struggle you are having even though you have a strong faith. It’s horrible to lose a loved one, and struggling with God afterward is part of the grieving and healing process. I’m so sorry for the pain and suffering you are going through. Please click on “contact me” at the top right hand of the screen and leave a number where I can call you, if you like. Know that I will be praying for you, sister-in-Christ.

  5. Congratulations on your book. For the last 20 months my family has been going through a very tough time. My husband in the fall of 2011 my 41 year old husband suffered a stroke and had brain surgery. We are still struggling with his recovery and in some areas he will never recover. We also have to kids who struggle trying to understand what is happening. The one thing I know is that we would have never made it with out God providing for us. However I realized this week that I have to accept the man he is now and that God has a bigger plan for him and us.

    • Oh, Rosemary, I’m so sorry to hear of your situation, especially your husband’s health issues and your chidren’s struggles to understand. But I’m glad to hear of your faith – it WILL see you through all of this, although it won’t be easy. Please stay in touch and let me know how you are doing, Rosemary.
